Salt Lake City Farmer's Market

Missing Iowa, we decided to attempt the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market. It was not anywhere near the size of the Downtown Des Moines market we used to frequent, but good nonetheless. There is something so fun about huge crowds, fresh samples and yummy food! There was actually a clown walking around making balloons for the children- which they loved and kept them occupied while we sampled and shopped some more! The highlight of this trip was not necessarily the food as who we saw. I had stepped away for a minute to go look at something when Kylin heard the man next to him speaking German. He looked over at the couple to see Elder Uchtdorf and his wife. After making eye contact with Kylin he bent over and said hello to Koleson and Allyssum sitting in the jogger. When I came back Kylin told me what I had missed. I asked him to hurry and get the camera out for a picture but he told me that it was inappropriate. Okay, I totally agree after thinking about it- especially since he was wearing your normal down to earth Saturday attire. It was fun though to see him mixed in with the Salt Lake crowd- most of which had no clue they were rubbing shoulders with an apostle of the Lord!

The market is done at Pioneer Park in Downtown SLC. They have put a nice new little park at the west end which the kids enjoyed after patiently waiting for us to finish our shopping!
