Koleson's First Day of Preschool
We are sad to see summer gone- long days of riding cars, bikes, swimming, parks, picnics and cousins. But on the other hand, Koleson was so excited to go back to school and get back into a routine. His school is only about a mile away- so we frequented it numerous times throughout the summer, doing drive-bys and waving! When the day finally came, he was so excited! He spent all of Tuesday night preparing his backpack with all of his favorite toys and cars for school the next day! We got to school and took a few pictures, he found his name on his locker and we tucked his toy filled backpack in the locker and slammed the door. We had to wait in line for all the moms to say goodbye to their children. Many children were crying and many moms shed a few tears a s well! I was not so sure about how Koleson would do, luckily, all the toys, decorations, books, puzzles, etc. looked enough like a playland that he signed his name in and ran off to the table. After he sat down he looked up at me, ran back over and gave me a hug saying, "bye mommy, have fun, see ya later!" Then returned to his seat to play with the blocks. He is getting so big so fast it seems. But i really do appreciate the hug and know it was for my own benefit- not his! I got back in the car with Jocelyn and Allyssum and headed off for some much needed errands. I definitely miss Koleson- but am not going to lie and say that it isn't wonderful to have a few hours a week without three kids to do my shopping, errands and a little more quiet than what we are normally used to!
